Live Events

Hello beautiful people.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that Fandango is NOT GOING TO HOLD ANYMORE larger style gatherings like EarthDance and Halloween.

It is my hope that we will continue to be able to hold small private family oriented pot luck gatherings.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this adventure. We have all experienced some sublime moments and the growth of our amazing community. For this and much more I am both humbled and proud to have been a part of.

For those of you who want to know why. It is not a simple answer but you deserve some explanation.

On a strictly physical level the most unsolvable problem we have encountered which drives me crazy is gate jumpers, we have no ability to keep underage people out or to decide when we are full. When a significant minority of people feel it is ok to bypass the gate the gatherings are doomed just that simple.

Litter, after every large scale event the amount of litter including glass and general junk is just staggering. This is our home and to me this land is sacred and we have the expectation that those attending will treat the land with respect but with large crowds this has never been the case and I am unwilling to deal with this anymore.

Un-healthy behaviour. I am one of the most tolerant and open minded people you will ever meet. I am truly honoured by every person who attends our gatherings. I have however grown increasingly unhappy with young people (14-18) who attend our events and who are obviously highly intoxicated. I wish I could sit down with everyone of them had have the time to talk about what is going on in their lives and to offer some guidance as to the wisdom of experiencing your youth clean and sober. That is not possible, and I do not want to have Fandango thought of as the place where young people (or anyone) just want to get messed up. Can't do it anymore.

On a spiritual level, I believe humanity is at a critical juncture where we now have the opportunity to move from the age of fear to the age of love. I want to refocus my energies on Fandango becoming a centre for this change.

This means for each of us to start taking responsibility for our creating and how we think and how we act.

It is my hope that Fandango will be able to continue to serve as a gathering centre for those of you who are interested in being part of this transition.

I am open to ideas, and suggestions as to how this might look.

Love you
Ed and LeRae and family
